Topic: APPRECIATING GOD FOR JESUS
Text : Romans 8:32
32: He who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all [other] things?
There is so much to Jesus than words can express, I wouldn’t be tempted to start a series of teaching about Jesus now, probably later, I will limit this to some reasons we need to celebrate his birth.
Let me start by saying; it was not in the initial plan of God that Jesus would come to earth, God didn’t intend that his son would pass through this earth, how do I know? Genesis 1:31And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it completely.
God made everything good without promise of sending his son to this world, it is like a man building a very good business empire without his son working in the company, but put men in charge and the business was running very until men made a mess of it, of course in his wisdom he would think that the best way to save this business is to put his own son in charge, who have gotten good qualifications and expertise to revive the company. You will agree with me that no matter how good and intelligent his son might be, it is not going to be an easy task for his son, this is a picture of what Jesus did, he was not in the original plan as a saviour, but his services ( birth, death and resurrection ) is required to save the world after Adam and Eve had made a mess of it.
We all feed and benefit for that organization, company, industry, society, world established by God, messed up by Adam and Eve, transformed and now manage by Jesus. We all earn a living from this big organization, the whole world gets its supply from this organization, Jesus approves the supply to everyone, how do I know? Jesus speaking John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Please try to understand that God made everything well in Eden putting Adam in charge, man wouldn’t need to go through pains to get supplies, but Adam made a complete mess of that great privilege given him to father the whole world, man lost freedom, power, grace, blessing, peace and eternal life through Adam, Adam brought curses, pains and death to man.
God willing to help human, brought restoration through Jesus, and that not without suffering or pains, from our passage God did not spare him, Romans 8:32 says ‘….how shall he not with him ( Jesus ) freely give us all things? ‘ It means if God couldn’t spare his most precious asset ( Jesus ) then he can’t spare any other thing from us, but will freely give us all things WITH Jesus, note the WITH, not by, not through but WITH, it mean everything comes with Jesus, it also with means Jesus is not a medium, a channel of blessing, he is the source of blessing.
