Topic: TOO MUCH FOR GOD 2
Text: Proverbs 29:1 KJV
1 He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and without remedy.
God is no respecter of anybody, He shows compassion on whom He chooses and have mercy on whom He choose to have mercy. No man is too much for God, not even an unbeliever who has sold his or her soul to the devil can be too much for God.
In Isaiah 36 & 37, Sennacherib, the king of Assyria, sent letter to Jehoshaphat King of Judah, that he was coming to war with Judah and take them captive. Sennacherib treathened Jehoshaphat by telling of his exploits in destroying every nation he has gone to war with and how he took them all into captivity, Sennacherib told Jehoshaphat that he should not be deceived that there is a God who can deliver Judah out his (Sennacherib) hand, that as he defeated all other nations, he would defeat Judah likewise.
Jehoshaphat went to God in prayer and God gave him His words in Isaiah 37:33-37 ” 33-Therefore thus saith the Lord concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shields, nor cast a bank against it.34-By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the Lord.35-For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake. 36-Then the angel of the Lord went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.”
So after all Sennacherib was not too much for God to handle.
Let’s consider another example, In Daniel 4: 30-36, King Nebuchadnezzar was proud of his achievement in Babylon, he exalt himself that his hand built the great Babylon, he failed to recognise the fact that it was God who made him a King and gave him the great city of Babylon. God dealt with him immediately, as he was praising himself, a voice spoke from heaven and immediately God turned him into a beast, he dwelt in the forest for seven seasons and when he came back to his senses and acknowledge God’s greatness and power, then God restored him and brought him back to the throne.
Beloved, God is no respecter of persons and no one is too much for God to handle, whoever you are, whatever you do, acknowledge God. Don’t despise God and don’t be an obstruction to God’s work, rather repent and return to God. God bless you
PRAYER:
* Father, may i not become too much for you in Jesus Name
