Topic: THE HOLY SPIRIT ( part 2 )
Text : Genesis 1:2
2: And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
This study about the Holy Spirit will in no small measure transform your life. I just want to focus on one thing this day: I want to prove to you from passages of the bible that God does nothing without his Spirit.
Genesis 1:2 explains that the first thing God did at creation is to allow is Spirit move upon the face of the waters, as against what we usually believe that the first thing he did was to create light, it is clear from this passage that his first activity is the movement of his Spirit, his Spirit moved upon the waters. I am praying earnestly that God’s Spirit will move over your life.
Samson was a great man in history, but not without the Holy Spirit look at this: And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, Judges 15:14, you can’t become great without God’s Spirit.
Everyone knows the small boy, David, killed a champion called Goliath, but obviously not without the Holy Spirit, how do I know? 1 Samuel 16:13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward…’ In 1 Samuel 17 in killed Goliath. Your Goliath will fall be the power of the Holy Spirit.
Ooh how earnestly we desire and pray that dry bones should live again as in the days of Ezekiel? But certainly not without the Holy Spirit; Ezekiel 37:1 The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones. As God’s Spirit comes upon you today, every dry bone will live again.
Apostle John could not have written the book of revelation without the Holy Spirit: Revelation 1: 10: I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet.
To shock you, even Jesus could do nothing without the Holy Spirit, look at this; Luke 4:18 ‘ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me …’ He was so clear when talking to his disciples in Acts 1:8 : ‘ But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you..’ He was very much clear taking to us in John 16:7 ; Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter ( Holy Spirit ) will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
See beloved, your life can’t run successfully without the Holy Spirit, challenges of life will keep you down if have not possessed by the Holy Spirit, the enemy will make a mess of your life if you are not filled with the Holy Spirit.
