19th November
Topic: JOY IN HIS PRESENCE
Text : Psalms 16:1-11
8 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Life’s challenges have taken hope and joy out of many, many people have been reduced to nothing or below expectations as a result of what they have been through. Some people find a way of getting off the sorrows in their hearts, they thinks it is by taking bottles of alcoholic drinks, by going to cinemas, going to clubs, relaxation centers, but they soon realize that their problems are still much present.
Sometimes when money is not available, we do hope that when money comes our problems will be solved, but we soon find out that money does not bring joy, and if care is not taken, as you have more of it, more problems surface.
It is important you understand that whatever gives life comes from the author of life, when you have body pains you can’t go to see an engineer, you approach a doctor rather, it is only the author of life that can give you comfort of life. It is absolutely important you know that nothing in life, no matter how precious it is can give you joy, the author of life has the exclusive right to give or withdraw joy from anyone at anytime.
See beloved, wise people seek God, and are committed to pleasing him. A patience who avoids seeing a doctor will definitely be far from good health, spending time with God activates unexplainable joy in your heart, even when there are challenges you are not sorrowful because you know God is with you.
Our passage is lovely ; 11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore; thou has shown me the path of life, that’s amazing, the Psalmist said ‘ I now know the path of life ‘ and where is that: in your presence is fullness of joy, by fullness he meant total joy not partial, not that he is happy for something and sorrowful for another, it is total joy.
Pleasure is also not out of place, and this is not just for a while but for evermore, really amazing, that I have joy as a teenage, as a bachelor, as a married man, as a father, as grand father, as a great grand father, and even when I go to be with the Lord I will have joy.
As I spend time continually with God, continual joy is not an option but guaranteed. Timing with God is access to fullness of joy. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Lord, let my Joy be full.
