Topic: GOD’S HEART CRY 2
Text: Ezekiel 22:1-30 KJV
29 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.
30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God.
Another heart cry of God aside from His cry for soul winners is for intercessors. In every generation, God is always on the look out for persons, or people who will stand in gap for others before God. God is in search of people who will carry the burdens of others in their heart in the place of prayer, people who will go on their knees for the sake of their nations, people who will pray to manifestation the deliverance, the salvation and the fulfilment of God’s counsel upon their lands and their people.
From our scriptural text above, God heard the cry of sins of a nation, and because He is the God who is no respecter of persons and without injustice, He must bring His judgement of destruction upon the land. However God being merciful was on the search for just one person in that nation who will stand in gap in prayer and plead for God’s mercy upon that land, that God might repent from the judgement He was bringing upon the land, but when God could not find anyone, He poured His indignation upon the land and destroyed it.
In Genesis 18:17-33 God wanted to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, but because God found Abraham righteous, He told Abraham what He wanted to God, and Abraham immediately interceded for Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham agreed with God, if only He could find ten people who are righteous in Sodom and Gomorrah, He will spare the land. God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because He could not find ten righteous people in the land, yet Abraham’s intercession saved Lot and his family from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Dearly beloved, the need for intercessors is a great cry in the heart of God, He is calling unto you today “I sought for a man among them…..”, will you yield His call?, Will you be available for God’s use. Think on this thing. God bless you.

* Father, give me the heart of intercession to stand in gap for others in Jesus Name.
* Father, here am I use me in Jesus Name.
