Topic: PLENTY IN SCARCITY ( part 1 )
Text: 1 Kings 17: 9-16
14; For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.
15; And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.
16; And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.
The bible has answer to every question, there is scripture for every matter of life, this is the reason it is called the book of life. You will agree with me that the world is experiencing economic downtime; many countries of the world are going through economic crisis, and the situation might not get better, you will find out why it might not get better as you read further. The first point I want discuss is ;
CAUSES OF ECONOMIC CRISIS.
1, God: 2 Kings 8:1, says ‘ …the Lord hath called for a famine..’ Look at Psalms 105:16; Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread. He does that, most times, when people sin against him.
2, Shedding of innocent blood: 2 Samuel 21:2, there was serious famine in Israel because King Saul killed people he ought not to kill, their blood cried to God for vengeance.
3, Prophecy of the last days; Jesus said in Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines… in divers places. This is the reason the situation might not get better, it is one of the signs of the end, but God has good plans for his people, He is their supply.
Look at this : The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing. Psalms 34:10, this is God’s plan for his people; those who have set their hearts to seek and serve him. God is committed to meeting the needs of his people, and beyond meeting their needs he wants to make them blessings to their world. 2 major points I am making here;
1, Economic crisis might not get better no matter the counsel from financial experts.
2, God is the source of everyone who trust in him; it is absolutely important you stay connected to God because good business strategies will fail, you will notice that they are already failing, businesses that use to do well are losing ground.
God is breaking the staff of bread of many nations, but those who stay connected to him will not lack adequate supply. Next week Monday I will be sharing how to stay connected.
PRAYER.
* Lord you are my source, I shall not lack.
* Help me to always stay connected.
