Topic: GOD HEARS CRIES
Text: Genesis 18:20-21KJV
21 And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.
God hears so many things, one common thing everyone knows God hears is prayer. Beyond prayer God also hear cries, I mean different kind of cries. One of such cries is the cry of sin.
Several passages in the scriptures established that sins of men goes to God as a cry, if you ask me what is the cry of sin going to God for? Its simple, the sins of men cry to God for judgement from God against them. The response of the two angels who visited Lots confirmed this “For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it (Genesis 19:13)
From our scriptural text above in Genesis 18:20-21, God was disturbed by the cry of sins from Sodom and Gomorrah, so He decided He would come down to ascertain that the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah is exactly the cries He heard in heaven, and there after God poured His judgement on Sodom and Gomorrah by destroying the city with fire from heaven (Genesis 19:24-25)
In Jonah 1:1-3, another nation God heard the cry of their sin was Nineveh, God told this to Jonah in verse 2 “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me”. So the wickedness of Nineveh ascend to God as a cry and God sent Jonah to warn them of the impending Judgement from heaven because of their sins.
I must point out that a lot are ignorant of this truth, hence living their lives carelessly, many say they got their lives to live the way they want, but they forgot they are answerable to God about their lives, many do not know that their perpetual sinful lives of lies, atrocities, prostitutions, homosexuality, lesbianism, masturbation, smoking, drunkenness, stealing, cheating, embezzling, share act of wickedness to other people e.t.c go to God as cries.
Dearly beloved, what kind of cry do you send to heaven, does your sins disturb heaven, repent today and seek God’s mercy. God bless you.
PRAYER
* Father, every way my sin disturbs heaven, have mercy on me today, save me and deliver me from sin in Jesus Name.
