PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
14th October
Topic: KINDS OF CHILDREN 3
Text: 1 Samuel 3:1 KJV
1 And the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no open vision.
The third category of children are those who were nurtured or trained, they accepted the nurturing and improved on it. These kind of children are well behaved, they respect people especially elders, they are good children especially when they have the fear of God in them.
There are several examples of these category of children in the scripture, a few examples are:

  • Samuel, a little boy grew up in the midst of two sons of Eli who were wayward and at a time when the word of God was scarce in Israel and there was no open vision, yet he was not influenced by both the spiritual and physical challenges that surround his growth. He eventually became God’s mouth piece for Israel and he succeeded the house of Eli as a priest in Israel. (1 Samuel 1-3).
  • Joseph, a choice child loved by his father but hated by his elder brothers, his brothers later sold him to slavery. At his service as a choice slave in his master’s house, Joseph was wrongly accused by his master’s wife which landed him in prison. All these did not discourage him, he stayed glued to his God and eventually became a prime minister in Egypt. (Genesis 37-41).

  • Josiah, a little of 8 years who became a King of Israel at such a tender age choose to walk in the footsteps of his fore father David and did what was right in the sight of God, even when many Kings who reigned before him did evil in the sight of God (2 Chronicles 34:1-4).

Dearly beloved, one thing that helped these children was that they were trained in the way of the Lord and they had the fear of God in them. If you desire these category of children, among many other things make sure you nurture them in the way of God (Proverbs 22:6).
PRAYER
