Text: Genesis 19:30-38 KJV
31 And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:
32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
33 And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
Our lives are products of our decisions, the decisions we make greatly affect us either positively or negatively, therefore its important we are careful in taking or making decisions, as wrong decision can mar a person.
Another factor for making wrong decision is rational lie. Rational lies are logical reasons that people heard or self-explanation they told themselves in other to justify their actions or lifestyles
A lot of people make wrong decisions based on their wrong perceptive or self deceit of rational lies.
From our text above, the daughters of Lots told themselves a rational lie (that there were no man on earth to marry them) to justify their ungodly intention and abominable act.
Some common rational lies these days are:
* Everybody is doing it (rational lie to justify wrong actions e.g prostitution, stealing, fraud, falsifying records, adultery, fornication e.t.c)
* No one is perfect (rational lie to justify sinful life)
* No one is holy
* Everybody is a sinner (rational lie to say a sinner is a saint)
* Its a national cake (rational lie to justify fraud, stealing or embezzlement)
* One must die of something (rational lie to justify wrong life style by smokers, drunkards e.t.c)
Dearly beloved, a lot have made and are still making wrong decisions because of rational lies that they were told by others or they told themselves. Remember the scriptures says God is not mocked, whatsoever ever you sow you will reap. Therefore be mindful of your decisions and don’t fall for rational lies. God bless you.
