Topic: THE BEST OF GOD ( part 3 )
Text : Exodus 33: 18-23
18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.
19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
We have been discussing the passion of Moses towards God, his hunger and thirst, how he could not just be satisfied with a bit of God. He had a strong desire for God and not just what God can do.
In this part 3, I want to discuss how he attained an height no one else ever attained, as he long and thirst after God, God keep granting his desires, at first it what God’s name he inquired, God couldn’t deny him of it, but declared that ; I am that I am, God offered him the escort of an angel, but he wouldn’t be satisfied with the offer but God’s presence, God couldn’t still deny him, he assured him of his presence, by now, if it were many of us, we would be rounding off our prayer session, but that is not not Moses.
I perceive Moses was still waiting after God has granted his requests, I perceive God asking him, ‘ Moses, by now you should be satisfied ‘ then Moses said, ‘ sir one more thing; if only I can see you glory ( see you physically ), I will be satisfied ‘ God’s answer to him was like ‘ hummmm this request is big, because no one see me and live, and I don’t want you to die now ‘.
From our text God made provision for Moses to see his back and not the whole of him, that is the peak a man ever attained, and that man is Moses. God was granting Moses’ requests because he spoke in Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. God is committed to revealing himself to anyone who seek him, Moses went far with God, look at this; Exodus 33:11 And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.
God will not deny anyone his presence, as we seek him, he reveals himself to us.
PRAYER
* It is another day to seek the Lord in fasting and prayer, ask to God reveal more of him to you.
