PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
10th October
Topic: MAKING WRONG DECISIONS
Text: Genesis 19:30-38 KJV
31 And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:
32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
33 And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
Our lives are products of our decisions, the decisions we make greatly affect us either positively or negatively, therefore its important we are careful in taking or making decisions, as wrong decision can mar a person. I will also like you to bear this in mind, when you make wrong decisions, its very much likely you are not the only one who will suffer the consequences, a lot of others too may have their share of the wrong decisions you make.
In life, there are many factors for making wrong decisions but we want to consider a few.
Wrong assumption is one critical factor for making wrong decisions, from our text above, Lot and his two daughters escaped from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah by the mercy of God. So Lot’s daughter found themselves to be alone with their father at that moment and they assumed that since God has destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and all the people there, that there were no men left on earth for them to get married to and preserve their fathers name and generation and so they made a wrong decision to have children through their father which was an abominable act. The descendants of the two children they gave birth to were Ammonites and Moabites who were constant enemy of God’s children (2 Chronicles 20:1).
Many homes are broken today, because the wife assumed that her husband is keeping a secret affair with his lady secretary, some have committed suicide because they assumed the person who hurt them or caused their misfortune was the very person they had ever trusted with their life’s secrets e.t.c
Dear reader, let be mindful of this, never take decisions on assumptions, affirm the truth and be certain before you decide, and even if your assumptions turned out to be the truth, still take caution in the kind of decisions you take as not only you but many other (even unborn generations) can suffer from that your single wrong decision. God bless you
PRAYER:
* Father, I will not make wrong decisions that will mar my life or send me to hell in Jesus Name.
* Father, every where I have been hurt, please heal my wound in Jesus Name
