Topic: THE BEST OF GOD ( part 2 )
Text : Psalm 103:7
He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
In part 1 of this message ( dated 27th September 2017 ) I was able to established the fact the Moses wasn’t seeking God for just his acts, but for intimacy.
We will go further here to study more of his quest for God.
In Exodus 33:2 God to Moses: And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out…’ But Moses wouldn’t be satisfied with the company of an angel, look what he said in v.13-15. 13;Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight..’
15; And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
Moses went to commune with God, I see Moses saying ‘ do you really love me? do I really find favour in your sight? And I see God responding by saying ‘ Moses, what is it this time? These your questions call for something. And Moses said,’ show me your way ‘ this like saying, ‘I want to understand you, I really want to know you. Not just what you do Lord, you have wrought wonders through me in Egypt, but I am not just satisfied with wonders, I want to know you.
Apostle Paul having the same understanding said in Philippians 3:10; That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection…’ This is the quest of everyone who wants to get the best of God, they are not just serving him for the purpose of solving their problems or meeting their needs, they thirst after a relationship that has eternal value.
V.15 Moses took a definite decision; 15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. This is one reason he couldn’t lose any battle, everything was subject to him, even the red sea, he knew God can’t be with him and he lacks anything, no nation of the world could conquer them, because God was with them.

If you must get mountains crushed and crumbled before you, you need God’s presence, if the impossible will become possible, you need God’s presence, for your dreams to come true, it can’t be without God’s presence. It is dangerous to assume you have it, but rather seek for intimacy with him, create time to wait in his presence, fast and pray to seek more of him.
Moses cherish God’s presence more than any other thing, he would leave his assignment to stay with God on the mountain for 40 days and 40 nights. I will conclude this message next Wednesday, I will be sharing how Moses attained a point in God that no man ever attain.
We all like Moses, should desire more God.
PRAYER.
*As we wait upon the Lord today, tell him draw you closer.
* Ask for more of him and his presence.
