PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
11th September
Topic: HANDLING TOOLS
Text: 1Samuel 17:40-51
40: Then he took his staff in his hand and chose five smooth stones out of the brook and put them in his shepherd’s [lunch] bag [a whole kid’s skin slung from his shoulder], in his pouch, and his sling was in his hand, and he drew near the Philistine.
49: David put his hand into his bag and took out a stone and slung it, and it struck the Philistine, sinking into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth.
50: So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and struck down the Philistine and slew him. But no sword was in David’s hand.
A sling and a stone brought about great victory through the hands of David, the hand that handles a thing most times determines the outcome of that thing, how many times have you made attempt to kill a bird with stones but you could not? How will one have thought a stone on sling will kill a dog, let alone a human being before you talk of killing a champion of the Philistine army? He was called a warrior from his youth ( 1 Samuel 17:33 ).
Two amazing things happened in this record of David and Goliath:
1, The stone hit the target: Goliath could have waived it or use his shield to block it but he couldn’t do any of the two. This is what happens when right hands handle a thing, a project, a business deal, a contract, a transaction, it will always hit target, it can’t fail, success is ascertained, profit is realized.
2, One shot was enough to kill Goliath: success does not come by doing too many things , if your hands are pronounced blessed what you do will prosper. The victory of David was never negotiable, he once killed a bear, at another time a lion and now a champion that terrified a whole nation, he killed him with mere stone and sling. He hands must have been anointed, prosperity was written on his palms, what amazes me about David is that he never lost a battle, even the battle against Absalom was won.
Failure was never attributed to him for two reasons I know:
1, He was a man after God’s heart; 1Samuel 13:14, God can’t be by your side and you fail, it is absolutely impossible. He served God wholeheartedly, I encourage you to do the same.
2, He was anointed and the Spirit of the Lord came upon him: 1Samuel 16:13, that Spirit is the Spirit of excellence, you can’t have him and fail, if you allow the Holy Spirit in your business, it will prosper. God bless you. Do have a blessed week.
PRAYER.
* Lord anoint my hands to prosper.
