PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
25th August
Topic: AWARE BUT SUDDEN
Text : Luke 12: 16-20
16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
It is a common knowledge that death is inevitable for everyone but it always appears sudden to hear someone dies. Death never appears timely, sinners die and believers also die, you look back to childhood age and it appears like some months back, you wonder when you clock certain ages.
The rich man in our passage was referred to as foolish because he was not prepared, he reasoned like he is the maker of his soul, and thought he could always enjoy as long as he wants, but the maker demanded the soul suddenly.
We must constantly remember that the maker can demand for our souls at anytime, nobody can question Him for that. Death is an exit from a temporal life but an entry to eternal life, either life of torment in hell fire or life of glory in heaven. The rich man in our passage was called foolish because he made no preparation for eternity.
Everyone who knows the maker can say ‘ time up ‘ at anytime prepares for eternity. Jesus died for your sins that you might reign with Him, NO SINNER WILL REIGN WITH GOD except he or she repents, you can be free from sin, Jesus made provision for that , how do I know? Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Don’t loss your soul in hell, if you miss heaven you will cry forever, the maker can demand for your soul at anytime, repent of your sins and accept Jesus as saviour and abstain from sin. BE WISE.
PRAYER.
* Tell God to cleanse you from your sins.
* Forsake your sins and ask for grace to live holy.
