Text : Luke 5:1-9
4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.
This topic is an instruction by the saviour to a man who has made several efforts in getting a catch but to no avail. Peter in this passage is liken to a man who has made several efforts about his life but got no success, no breakthrough, no prosperity and has retired to fate.
In verse 5 Peter answered Jesus ‘ Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing….’ As an experienced fisherman, he understood that the best time to have a good catch is in the night, but all night they have laboured and caught nothing, what a frustrating experience? But he realized that the person speaking here is the saviour, so he went further to say ‘ nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net ‘ and great was his breakthrough.
Just as He instructed Peter the same instruction is coming to you this day ‘ cast your net ‘ put away your frustrations, disappointment,failures, this time no more failure, no more frustration, because it is the Master of all circumstances and endeavours that is speaking , your breakthrough is near, don’t lose heart or give up, your cast this time, this day, this week, this month will bring about a great catch. God bless you.

* Lord as I cast my net this week let there be a great catch.
