Topic: STANDING IN GAP
Text : Ezekiel 22: 1-31
30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God.
Our passage today explains the corrupt state of a nation, it analyse the atrocities, immoral and abominable things in a nation. The activities of the nation described in this passage called for God’s anger just like He was wrath with Sodom and Gomorrah.
God looks among men to access their activities, His eyes are purer than to behold iniquity, when He watches out for righteousness and justice but He sees atrocities, anger arises within Him. A nation filled with terrorists, kidnappers, ritualists, armed robbers, fraudsters, looters, occult men in power, where few individuals get richer at the expense of her citizens invites the wrath of God.
People in the days of Noah were swept by flood because of their iniquities, Sodom and Gomorrah were burnt to ashes because of their abominable acts. The nation that forgets God will be turned to hell.
From our passage God seeks men to stand in gap for each nation, like Moses interceded for the Israelites Exodus 32:32, Abraham interceded for Sodom and Gomorrah and at least Lot’s family was saved, Daniel interceded for the return of Jews to their land while in captivity Daniel 9:1-3, Prophet Jonah in the book of Jonah 3:1-10 declared the mind of God to the people of Nineveh, everyone in Nineveh yielded to God when he or she heard God’s word.
For your nation, God needs watchmen to plead with Him on behalf of your nation, and to also declare the mind of God to her citizens.
I want to make a special request for my country Nigeria, couple of days ago I had a revelation that is not good for Nigeria, pray that this country will never experience war. God bless you.

* Ask God to have mercy on your country.
* Ask His Spirit to move and take charge of your country.
