Topic: THE SPIRITUAL LIFE
Text: Romans 8:6-10 KJV
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Life is in phases on earth, one of the phases of life common to all is the natural life (i.e natural man) or carnal life which means life in the flesh. Everyone is mindful of their natural life and its often living for survival, labouring to make ends meet and its often characterised by the survival of the fittest.
Another phase of life common to all but not mindful by all is the spiritual life (i.e. spiritual man) which means life in the spirit. Man is a spirit being in the the flesh, as such there is a spirit life of man which greatly controls the natural life. A natural man can only relate with God through his spirit.
From our text, God is interested in the spiritual life of man, …but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 1 Corinthians 2:14 says “but the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” meaning a natural man can never understand, or know the things of God because they will sound or look foolish to him. Verse 10 says “But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” So to receive what God has for you in life, you have to get connected to God through your spirit.
Beloved, If you want God to empower you over life challenges, to subdue the power of darkness, to go far in life, fulfil God’s purpose for your life, to have your ways blessed and prosperous, live beyond the natural, get spiritual with God. God bless you

Father, help me to be spiritually minded and not carnally minded in Jesus Name
