Topic: BEGINNING & ENDING OF LIFE
Text: Ecclesiastes 3: 1-2
2 A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot.
There is a common quote which says life is in phases, men are in sizes…, Life on earth is a phase of life which has a beginning (a time to be born) and an ending (a time to die or a time to be raptured). The end of this phase of life on earth (death or rapture) is the beginning of another phase of life beyond the earth (eternal life).
Features of Life on Earth
* It has beginning and an ending
* It is time bound (a time to be born & die)
* sizes of men are relevant e.g infant, youth, adult, single, married e.t.c
* There is power to make decisions of choices
* prayers can be answered
* sinners and saints co-habit together
* choices made determines where one will spend the eternal phase of life
Features of Eternal Life
* Begins with death or rapture
* It has no ending, it is forever
* time is irrelevant because its for eternal
* sizes of men are irrelevant (status, age, sex are insignificant)
* too late to make decisions or choices
* too late to pray
* sinners and saints are separated
* sinners eternity is hell fire with the devil
* saints eternity is in heaven with God
* It is mandatory for all
Dearly beloved, there is a life that begins when this very life of yours ends. No! you can’t escape it but you can choose where it will be whether heaven (by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour) or hell fire. So be mindful of the end of this life, be mindful of the beginning of eternal life and be mindful where you choose to spend eternal life.
