Topic: MORTAL AND IMMORTAL
Text: Isaiah 55:1-13
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Mortal is defined as 1, causing or having capacity to cause death. 2, Unrelenting and deadly. 3 ( theology ) Involving loss of divine grace or spiritual death. While Immortal is defined as a supernatural being.
While man is mortal, God is immortal. God, though immortal, wants the mortal man to relate with Him, even when we surrender our lives to Christ, the human nature is still there, of course we still feel hunger, tired, and sometimes sick. Temptations are also around us, so how can this mortal being ( man ) relate with the immortal being ( God ), how can man be on the same page with God? How can he be in terms with God? How can God’s ways become His ways.
Let me use this illustration: when you bring an illiterate, who could neither read nor write to marry a professor who rates education very high, how will the two marry each other?
Of course you know that is not impossible if the professor is truly in love with the illiterate lady.
For the two of them to be on the same page, the professor needs to give his illiterate bride tutorials, must come down to the level she can impact knowledge to her bride but there will be great difficult if the lady is not showing interest in education.
God came to the level of man by putting on the form of man ( Philippians 2:9,10. Hebrews 4:15 ) God, the immortal, wants to make us , mortal beings, His bride, and for us to be on the same page with Him, we must submit to fellowship, worship, study of His words to know and understand His ways, we must be given to prayer to transform our spirit.
It is at this level we get the best of our lives and fulfill God’s purpose for our lives. God bless you.
