Topic: LIGHT OUT
Text: Isaiah 60:1-3
Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
Isaiah 60:2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
Isaiah 60:3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
It was prophesied that darkness will cover the earth, but God in His wisdom put His children as light to lighten up the world. Our lives on earth is to fulfill His purpose, darkness denotes confusion, corruption, sin, atrocities, and all kinds of evil, God is set to put out darkness with the shining of His light through us.
A Christian life is a life that radiates the glory of God, God places us where we are to reflect His glory, to show forth light in this dark world. It is like putting a bulb in your kitchen, another in your toilet, another in your room, of course the one in the room cannot give light in the sitting room. Just as you expect all those bulbs to give light in their respective places God also expects each one of us to give light wherever we are.
How uncomfortable will you be when you return from work and discover there is no light in your kitchen, especially when you need to do some things in the kitchen? In like manner, each time we fail to give out light in this dark world, God is not comfortable with us.
People cannot feel the light we profess we are, we have more churches but more sinners, more preachers but more atrocities, most of our worship centers have become entertainment centers, in fact some ministers go to the extent of bringing comedians who cracks all kinds of jokes on God’s holy altar. Fire brand Christians are rear, too many Christians cannot defend their faith.
The church has succeeded in raising prosperity cautious Christians without regard for the life of Christ, sinners troop in and out of our churches every worship service and their lives are not changed, each time God looks down for rays of light it is usually LIGHT OUT.
Selfishness and mere practice of religion have put out our light, what about Christianity in the market place, zero, when we fail to represent Christ at work, they told you ‘ this is corporate setting ‘, and you are cautious not to talk about Christ. I worked in a bank, everyone knew I am a Christian, they did feel God’s presence any time they call me to lead devotion before work.
When we fail to bring sinners to Christ, it is LIGHT OUT, when no one glorifies God for your life, it is LIGHT OUT, when you cannot talk about Christ, it is LIGHT OUT, when people perish around you, it is nothing but LIGHT OUT, when we come to a point our leaders make laws that affect our faith and we keep silent about it, it is ABSOLUTE LIGHT OUT. As I check my own light, I urge you to do the same. God bless you.
