Topic: WORSHIPPING IN TRUTH
Text : John 4:21-30
St. John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
St. John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Mere profession does not connote true worship, pledging allegiance to God or showing reference through mere words does not mean worship. In fact, going to church or paying your tithes and giving offerings do not either, all these are necessary for true worship but they are not the totality of truth worship.
It is important you know that God is the judge of all, and until he finds us worthy, we will not be accepted by Him. Let me quickly make a point here, some people ‘ say no one is worthy, but the blood of Jesus qualifies us ‘, as valid as this point is, it does not permit us to live carelessly.
No careless soul will reign with Christ, though he observes all religious rites, if there is still skeleton in his cupboard, he does not have a place in God. Giving men impression that you are a true worshipper is complete waste of time, if your life is not right with God. If I am your pastor, and by my assessment, I could certify that you are a true Christian, if we stand before God on the Judgment day, and He asks you to go to hell, and I say ‘ God no, I know this brother too well, he is a true believer ‘ I am sure He will response by saying ‘ shut up, what do you know? ‘ And who am I to argue with the creator?
Until your life is right with God and there is a witness in your heart to that effect, He does not know you. Our attendance in church does not move Him, of course He expects you to pay tithes and give offerings but He is still not impress until He sees righteousness and holiness in your life, how did I know ? 2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
A liar cannot be accepted by Him expect he desist from telling lies, no matter who you are in church, if you have a lady in love affair other than your wife, He does not know you. God hates sin with passion, and nothing is hidden from Him, do not lose your soul to hell, be a true worshipper and have a place with God in eternity. If you are not born again, today is the day of salvation. God bless you.
