Topic: ACCESSING YOUR BLESSING
Text : Psalms 68: 1-20
Psalms 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.
Psalms 68:20 He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.
The first point worthy of note this morning is the fact that God is not folding His hands, He daily loads us with blessings, another point you must not toll with is the fact that, words of the bible are not exaggerated, the sentence ‘ He daily loads us with benefits ( blessings ) ‘ is just what it meant.
Now, if God blesses me everyday, how come the blessing is not visible ? This illustration best answer the question: there are times I have money in my bank account, but on getting to the bank, I couldn’t withdraw, probably because network is down. Even if the bankers know that I have money with them, they might not pay me because network isn’t available to debit my account. The same applies to your blessings, blessings is reserved by God for you, but you got to access them, if there is no connectivity you won’t have access to the blessings.
Don’t forgot that the blessing should come daily, to buttress that, Jesus said in the Lord’s prayer ‘ give us this day, our daily bread ‘ that means I need to connect daily. I am expected to connect through prayer, it is important I observe my quiet every morning to access the blessing of the day. It is big error to rush out without taking time to pray to God. It is like a boy going to school who forgot to ask his parents money for feeding and transport for that day, it will be no one’s fault but his if he gets stranded. So it is absolutely important we seek God’s face for the blessing of each day. Quiet time should be first activity of the day.
Another point I mustn’t leave out is this: the fact that you pray in a day does not mean you will be happy all day, something might still appear like spoiling your day, it might appear ugly, but I tell you God is walking out something. To shook you; that unpleasant experience might be the blessing of the day, God through that experience will lift you.
Permit me to share this experience: after my wedding expenses, I had financial crisis, I needed another source of income apart from salary, I studied some businesses which eventually give much more than salary, I felt comfortable to resign and face business squarely, if I had not had financial crisis I might still be an employee.
Some unpleasant things will show up, even after praying, they are blessings in disguise, they are the blessings of that day. Getting someone’s contact might be your blessing for another day, the fact remains that God daily loads us with blessings, we got to access them through prayer and abstinence from sin. God bless you. Ensure you access your blessing for each day.
