Topic: AN EXCELLENT CHILD Part 4
Text: Luke 2:52 KJV
52- And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
In part 1,2&3 of this devotional on Saturdays 29th, 6th & 13th May respectively (read further @ www.raisedbygrace.wordpress.com), we considered various biblical examples of excellent children and the secrets of their excellence. Today we want consider that these children were excellence in all things.
Our various biblical examples of excellent children, were excellent in all areas of their lives, they were not progressing in certain areas and failing in other areas, rather they excelled in all areas. For example they were:
- Excellent in spiritual matters: Jesus was found in the temple asking doctors of law questions at age of 12 (Luke 2:46), Samuel ministered to God being a child at a time when visions were rare and God’s word was precious (1 Samuel 1:3), Josiah did what was right in the sight of God, he walked in the ways of David his father not turning away from it (2 Chronicles 34:2-3).

Excellent in wisdom, knowledge & understanding: Every one who heard Jesus in the temple marvel at His wisdom and understanding (Luke 2:47), As Samuel grew up, non of his words fell to the ground (1 Samuel 3:19), Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dream and also proffer solution to impending global famine. (Genesis 41:38-42).

Excellent in business & domestic affairs: Joseph was in charged of Portipher’s house and God blessed Portipher for Joseph’s sake (Genesis 39:2-4), Both Jesus and Samuel grew in favour not just with God but with men meaning they did had excellent relationship with men in their affairs (Luke 2:52, 1 Samuel 2:18)
Dear reader, all round excellence shall be your children’s portion in Jesus Name. Train up your child in the way he should go (spiritual, physical, moral, academic, domestic e.t.c) and when he is old he will not depart from it. It is not enough that your children excelled academically but are nowhere to be found in spiritual matters, domestic affairs e.t.c. Ensure you raise them for all round excellence. God bless you.
PRAYER
* Father, let my children excelled in every way and on every side in Jesus Name.
* Father, my children will not excel partially but totally in all areas of life in Jesus Name
