Topic: IN DEPTH UNDERSTANDING OF SACRIFICE
Text : Psalms 50:5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
Last week Sunday 7th May I started sharing this subject, today I will go in depth for clearer understanding. I want explain to how we are covenanted with God via sacrifice.
* THE MYSTERY OF FINANCIAL SACRIFICE
It is important you understand, if you must prosper, that God’s kingdom is of uttermost importance to Him, in fact that is the reason Jesus came to suffer and died, God puts money in the hands of those who have the mind of funding His kingdom, people who will make room for giving to God’s work. When you include His kingdom expenses in your budget, then you are qualify for financial breakthrough.
The church needs money, and the only way God blesses the church is to put money in the hands of those who can give to the church, so, when God could see that you will give to His church and His work then, He releases money into your hands. The kind of givers I am talking about here, are those who gives beyond tithes, not those who still struggle to pay tithe.
The scripture that came to my spirit as I meditate about this is
1 Kings 3:4 And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.
1 Kings 3:5 In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.
It occurred to me that as each sacrifice goes to God, the smell was a sweet smelling one, I see God asking ‘ who is that? ‘ And the Angels answered ‘ Solomon ‘ for the number 1,2,3,4…..up to 1,000, all sweet smelling sacrifice and God said ‘ I must visit Solomon tonight. ‘ And God said ‘ ask me whatever, I mean whatever at all ‘ and He lavished wisdom on Solomon. That is what sacrifice can do.
* THE MYSTERY OF LIFE SACRIFICE.
This is committing your life to God wholly, serving God with the whole of your heart. God spoke to me several years ago ‘ Yemi, you can’t serve me and be useless ‘ He gave me an illustration that diffuses thought of untimely death, permit me to share with you: each time you tidy up your wardrobe or book shelf, you remove items that are no longer useful, document that is no longer important, then He said ‘ as longer as you are useful in my kingdom, you will continue to live, you can only go when your time is off or no longer useful.
So it follows that, if God sees that I will still be useful to Him in the next 50 years or more, He keeps me alive till then, you see how sacrifice brings you into covenant of long life and good health. I encourage you to give Him the best of your life and substance.
PRAYER.
* Lord I give you my life and all that I have.
