Topic: UNDERSTANDING YOUR SPIRIT ( part 2 )
Text : Proverbs 20:27
Proverbs 20:27 The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
God is a Spirit being and to relate with human being there must be connectivity, there is no way the immortal can relate with the mortal, spirit cannot relate with human, it’s like saying the dead relating with the living, so for God to be able to connect to man, He deposits spirit in man, primarily to search the intent of man’s heart.
It is this spirit in man that makes it possible for God to see every man, hears every man, knows the intent of any man’s heart. When you pray it is that spirit that communicates with God, it informs God about your desires, it is that spirit that determines your acceptance before God, how do I know this? Look at this : St. John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Being born of the spirit is absolutely important because the spirit of a sinner cannot relate with God, a corrupt spirit cannot flow with the Spirit of God, cannot offer acceptable prayer even offerings to God, the bible is clear about this in Proverbs 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
Proverbs 15:26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant word.
Everyone who will be in cordial relationship with God must make sure his or her spirit is cleansed, the fellow must ensure his or her spirit is not corrupt. Look at this also: 2 Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. You must cleanse yourself from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, this is necessary to perfect holiness in the fear of God.
If you want to get the best of God, it is only through the spirit, St. John 4:24 states this very clearly ; God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Your spirit is liken to the Sim card you put in your phone, of course without it you cannot be connected, once the Sim card stop functioning you are disconnected no matter the quality of your phone.
Just as you ensure your Sim card is always intact, your spirit also must be intact to access God and what He has in stock for you. The blood of Jesus is available to cleanse your spirit, plead it upon your spirit, soul and body.

* Help me Lord to keep sweet relationship with your Spirit oh Lord.
