PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
23rd April
Topic: TALKING TO YOUR SOUL
Text : Psalms 103:1-10
Psalms 103:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Psalms 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Psalms 103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Psalms 103:4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
There are time you wake up and feel moody, dull, sad for no just reason, not that anything really bad has happened but you are not just excited. Some other times when you think of how life has been with you, you feel unhappy. At both times you need to talk your soul as the Psalmist did.
The Psalmist ( king David ) will not allow his thoughts drive him to a point he beginning to feel the Lord has not done much, at that time when he is beginning to have a feeling of sorrow, sadness, he quickly talk to his soul, what a God way to shun the Devil? Instead of feeling down he said in v.2 and I quote ‘ Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits ‘ we lose our sense of gratitude when we forget what the Lord has done, so he told his soul Bless the Lord and Forget Not all His benefits.
Many times when we make comparison of our lives with others, there is tendency of feeling less blessed, look at this: 2 Corinthians 10:12 …. but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. If you thinking deeply you will realize that God has been so good to you.
It is your duty to talk to your soul the way the psalmist did, ‘ bless the Lord, oh my soul and forget not all His benefits. God bless you. Do have a praiseful week.
PRAYER.
* LORD help me not to forget all your benefits.
