Topic: LIVING FOR HIM
Text: 2 Corinthians 5:15KJV
15- And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
We have celebrated Easter, a celebration of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. However, Jesus did not laid down His life just to die and set us free from the bondage of sin and death, God also did not just sacrifice His only begotten son just that the world might be saved (John 3:16). Beloved, beyond the salvation that Christ purchased for us with His blood, we must live henceforth for Him.
From our scriptural text above, it is clear that we no longer own our lives, but Christ does. The lives we had were greatly indebted by sin, the wages for that sinful lives of ours is death (Romans 6:23) which Jesus paid for us thereby buying our lives back from death by His own death and blood on the cross of calvary.
So the lives we live now is not meant to please ourselves but to please Him who died and rose again for us.
Therefore brethren, live not henceforth unto yourselves but unto God. Apostle Paul said similar thing in Galatian 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
Paul said the life he lived in the flesh, he lived it by faith of the son of God who died for him. As you live from this point onward live to please your Lord and saviour Jesus and always remember that Jesus will come back, and when he comes you shall give account of that life He gave you unto Him. I pray when He comes He will find you worthy in Jesus Name. God bless you
