Topic: CHILDREN ARE ALSO RELEVANT
Text: Matthew 29:13-14KJV
13- Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
14- But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
In the matters of God’s kingdom as men and women are relevant, children are also relevant. The fact that they are little ones does not diminish them in any way in the presence of God and in the matters of the Kingdom. Though their parents are responsible for their upbringing yet they are personality with purpose and mandate from heaven over their lives.
From our text above, the disciples of Jesus relegated the littles ones, they possibly felt if adults, men and women are coming to Jesus it is normal but for children it is not, I perceive they concluded that all that matters to children is to eat and play and since Jesus does not look like a man who has time to play with children they forbid them to come to him. Thank God Jesus corrected them and made it clear that the children are relevant in the matters of the Kingdom.
Two important things that Jesus said about the children in the Kingdom matters are:
* The angels of the little ones behold the face of God in heaven
(Matthew 18:10)
* Unless men and women change and become like the little ones they will NEVER enter the kingdom of heaven(Matthew 18:3).
Dearly beloved, men, women, parents, guardians e.t.c. If Jesus does not condemn nor despise the children, we should neither despise nor relegate them in the family and especially in the church. Many parents go to church early but leave their children to come late to church or at times not to come at all. Some parents care about themselves in the church but they don’t care about their children spiritual growth in the church, I pray that God will not condemn you because of your children in Jesus Name and you will not fail God over them. Your children are relevant in the matters of the kingdom, beloved think on these things. God bless you
PRAYER:
* Father, give me understanding on this subject matter in Jesus Name
* Lord, may I not disappoint heaven over my children and family in Jesus Name.
