PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
24th March
Topic: HANDLING PRESSURE ( part 3 )
FINANCIAL PRESSURE
Text :3 John 1:1-14
3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
3 John 1:3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
3 John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
I will start today’s message this way: my parents will not be glad to know that I am under any kind of pressure, God in like manner, even much more than our parents will not want us to be under any kind of pressure. I have strong feelings in my spirit that since I started discussing HANDLING PRESSURE for 3 consecutive Fridays now, somebody some where is getting blessed.
I am discussing way of a common kind of pressure this morning, Financial Pressure, this is common to all classes of people, the popular saying ‘ everybody needs money ‘ justifies that. You need to understand that God desires that all His children prosper, that is stated clearly in v.2 of our passage.
STEPS OUT OF PRESSURE
1, Get something doing: there are one thousand and one things that can earn you a good living, look around, study businesses, it doesn’t have to do with what you read in school, think out of the box, it doesn’t have to be white collar jobs, for instance in Nigeria where I live, the informal sector does better that the formal sector, some other times I might prove that.
2, Watch the things you buy, spend money on needful things not luxurious things, get a big catch before before small ones, if I have $2500 it can buy a piece of land some where in my country, but if I buy a TV set first of all, some pairs of shoes and trousers, wrist watch then I have just not spend prudently. This is what I do; I use huge income for big projects, you can also save petty income for big projects but don’t ever spend big income on petty items. Be wise.
3, Avoid credit; when you buy on credit you are spending your income in advance, for instance if I buy anything on credit in March, I might probably be spending the money I will make in April, it is like living your life in arrears.
4, Stay connected to the source of blessing, God, you cannot prosper without Him, don’t join them to argue either paying of tithes is right or wrong, you will be cheating on yourself, God cursed the Israelites because they don’t pay tithes Malachi 3:9,10 that same God has not change. God bless you.
PRAYER.
* Lord bless me indeed and enlarge my coast.
