Topic: THE EFFICACY OF DEVOTION
Text : 1 Samuel 3:1-21
1 Samuel 3:1 Meanwhile, the boy Samuel was serving the Lord by assisting Eli. Now in those days messages from the Lord were very rare, and visions were quite uncommon.
1 Samuel 3:2 One night Eli, who was almost blind by now, had just gone to bed.
1 Samuel 3:3 The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was sleeping in the Tabernacle near the Ark of God.
1 Samuel 3:4 Suddenly, the Lord called out, “Samuel! Samuel!” “Yes?” Samuel replied. “What is it?”
Every human being is made up of spirit, soul and body. The body that is visible to our eyes is just a covering or a house for the spirit to dwell, when a man dies his body is being buried, his spirit and soul never die. The spirit of a man is very active in the way he goes about his endeavors and the affairs of his life.
The making of a man is determined by the devotion of his spirit, what your spirit feeds on and devoted to determine your output in life, when anything is coming to you, your spirit receives it first. Show me the output of a man, I will show you the input in his spirit.
Let me explain further this way; someone is called a witch because she is possessed with the spirit of witchcraft, a robber carries the spirit of robbery, etc. Now the level of the devotion of your spirit determines your level of output in the physical realms. The spirit of a man responses to what he gives devotion, your devotion to God and His Spirit guarantees the manifestation of God’s grace and power in your life.
It is absolutely important you give God devotion by observing regular time of prayer , praise and study of His word, when your spirit comes in connection with God’s Spirit the best of you will manifest. Your human flesh can achieve little or nothing but by the Spirit of God you will certainly do great exploit. God bless you.

* Lord help me to devote my spirit aright.
* Give me grace to give you more of my time.
