PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
Topic: HANDLING PRESSURE ( Part 1)
Text.: 2 Samuel 12:1-27
2 Samuel 11:2 Late one afternoon David got out of bed after taking a nap and went for a stroll on the roof of the palace. As he looked out over the city, he noticed a woman of unusual beauty taking a bath.
2 Samuel 11:3 He sent someone to find out who she was, and he was told, “She is Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite.”
2 Samuel 11:4 Then David sent for her; and when she came to the palace, he slept with her. (She had just completed the purification rites after having her menstrual period.) Then she returned home.
Prevailing Voice Daily is a blessing to many in several parts of the world, this is simply because we wait upon the Lord for each write up. As I have leading in my spirit man I will be sharing for 4 consecutive Fridays ‘ HANDLING PRESSURE ‘, this morning we are looking at emotional pressure.
Emotion places important role in everyone’s life, it is capable of ruining one’s destiny, it has brought limitations to some people’s life, emotions like anger, lust have destroyed some people’s home, some have lost good jobs and opportunities because of emotion.
Dictionary defines it as ‘ a strong feeling ‘ but bible defines it as ‘ a traveler ‘ how do I know? In 2 Samuel 12 God sent Prophet Nathan to King David, and Nathan speaking by God’s spirit described David’s emotion as ‘ a traveler, a guest ‘. It means it stays for a moment. Every emotion is temporary, never permanent, now imagine that a temporary feeling can destroy one’s life, David paid dearly for the actions led by his emotion.
Waiting a while, taking a little break from the scene of emotional feeling will avert great evil, shutting your mouth at the point of emotional feeling will prevent evil, keeping your eyes away will help your emotion, keep them away from seductive dressing, from young ladies. Look at this : Job 31:1 “I made a covenant with my eyes not to look with lust upon a young woman. NLT. A little discipline will help, it will save your marriage, restrain your eyes from seeing evil, stop keeping eyes on nude pictures.
Deal with anger by simply keeping silent, stay mute, you don’t have to respond to every insult, maltreatment. Meditate on God’s word daily, it has capacity subdue your emotions per time. God bless you.
* Lord help me to control my emotions.
