Topic: HONESTY
Text: 2 Corinthians 4: 1-21
1 Corinthians 4:1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
1 Corinthians 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
It is really not enough to profess ourselves as children of God, our lives must prove that. Certain things are not to be found with us, some lifestyles do not befit Christians, ungodly attributes of life should not be known with us.
One of the definitions of honesty is ‘ worthy of being depended on ‘, believers must be taken by their words. God called us light to our world, dark behaviors should not be known with us. Though we live among ungodly people , our lifestyle must be godly. It is like doing stuff with dirty people and yet you are expected to be clean; living in a dirty environment and yet expected to stay clean; and even make the environment clean. There are many dirty business deals and quick ways to make money but God expects you and I to stay holy always.
Another definition of honesty is: not deceptive or fraudulent, both deception and fraud are not kingdom lifestyles, they lead to dishonest gain which attract curse not blessing. A believer’s life should set example for others to emulate, this is the real definition of light in darkness. Put out darkness in your environment, work place and anywhere you find yourself.
