Topic: PUTTING THE ENEMY TO FLIGHT
Text. : James 4:1-17
James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
All human beings have an age long enemy, he is a friend of none, his name is devil, he is the author of confusion, troubles, problems, evil, he is interested in anything that is not good, he works tirelessly against the progress of everyone.
His modules operandi is in different dimensions, he has organized institutions, he is skillful in attacks and destruction, many have become his prey. Look at this; Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. That is the network of his operations.
It will be wrong to say he does not have power, he does have power but through Jesus Christ we have greater power, look at this:St. Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. In Jesus we have power to tread over all his power.
From our text, anyone that will chase the enemy must first submit his himself to God, give his life to Christ, abstain from sin. Everyone who has accepted Jesus as Lord and saviour receives powers to rebuke the devil John 1:12. He can go ahead to rebuke the devil, it is not enough say I have received Christ has saviour, I don’t need to do anything further, devil cannot hurt me, that is not correct, when you give your life to Christ, you receive power to put the enemy to flight, it is your duty to use that power, rebuke the devil in the place of prayer. You see the hand of devil in your life, business, family, rebuke him through prayer and he will flee from you. God bless you.
PRAYER
* I rebuke you devil in every way and on every side.
* This day I destroy the works of the devil in my life in the name of Jesus.
* Every monitoring demon I blindfold you and send you to exile.
* It is another day to wait upon the Lord, endeavor to be part of it.
