PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
9th February
Topic: HIS WILL, MY MEAT
Text: John 4:31-34KJV
31- In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.
32- But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
33- Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
34- Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
The importance of food to staying alive and staying healthy cannot be over emphasized. Every living thing on the surface of the earth feeds, there is no one who hates food and I have not seen anyone who is an enemy of food, this is because food is very essential to life.
From our scriptural text above, Jesus is pointing our attention to something very important, that as food is important life, so is the will of the Father important to life. He said His meal is to do the will of God and to finish it, meaning if food is so important to life, then doing and finishing the will of God is important to life
, in other words it means if He has not done the Father’s will then He should not eat.
It also means that Jesus is explaining to us from the bible text above that if food is important to staying alive physically, then doing and finishing the Father’s will is important to staying alive spiritually. So Jesus was saying what He was living for was to do and complete God’s will and that He did till He was crucified. Beloved, what are you living for? Is God’s will your meat? Is the will of God important to your life as food? or God’s will is secondary to other things that are of primary importance to you.
Dearly beloved, what is your purpose on earth?, what do you live for? Remember the scriptures says in 1 Corinthians 6:13 “Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them…” also in 1 John 2:17 “And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” God bless you

* Father let me do your will all the days of my life and let me finish it before I see you in your Kingdom
