Proverbs 22:6 KJV
6- Train up a child in the way he should go , And when he is old he will not depart from it.
A total child is a complete child. He/She a child raised and nurtured to have a balanced life. To raise a total child, the following are important:
* Mental completeness: A total child is a child raised with mental responsibility and stability, a child raised with sound judgement on values and issues of life. Such a child knows what to do in any circumstances even when the parents are not around. A child with mental maturity cannot be ride on easily, cheat or even deceived easily.
So raise your child to be mentally complete, stable, responsible and matured.
* Spiritual guidance: Another thing a total child possesses is spiritual guidance, that is trained, nurtured and raised with every consciousness about God. He/she is guided in the word of God and also in prayer. Such a child has sense of responsibility in God, and understands that he/she is a child of God.
* Social guidance: Social guidance is very important in making a total child and its seriously been neglected in our days compared to the other two points mentioned above. To raise a total child, you also need to guide a child socially. Many things in the society are become abused, activities of peer groups are most times on the negative perspectives of life. So you need to guide your ward socially. Watch what you expose them to, monitor what they expose themselves to in your absence, prayerfully with love, watch the kinds of friends they keep, this does not mean to cut off their social life and cage them in-doors. Its simply helping them to live a right and positive social life to making them total children. God bless you
