Topic: THE MERCIFUL
Text : Matthew 5: 1-16
St. Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Life is programmed to respond to men’s activities, the ground has been instructed by God to yield to man what he sows. A wicked man should expect wickedness except he repents, a merciful man should be prepared to receive mercy.
Sometimes people wonder why wicked people live long, and sometimes it appears they prosper, sometimes you might want to doubt the fairness of God in judgment, but a proper study of the lives of Abel and Cain gave me an understanding of the fairness of God to everyone in all things.
You might want to ask ‘ why did God allow Cain to kill Abel? ‘ As I ponder over this, I got an understanding that : Abel went to rest while Cain was meant to suffer anywhere he goes on earth. God allow wicked men to live to get due punishment if they refuse to repent, look at this :
Genesis 4:10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.
Genesis 4:11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand;
Genesis 4:12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth
Genesis 4:13 And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
The earth is commanded by God to give back to everyone whatever he sows. Every wise person will show mercy and stay far from wickedness either in the secret or in public. Choose to be merciful in all your dealings , and you shall find mercy always . God bless you.

* Lord remove every trait of wickedness from me.
