Topic: CHANGING YOUR REALM
Text. : 2 Kings 3:1-15
2 Kings 3:14 And Elisha said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.
2 Kings 3:15 But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.
Realm is defined as a domain in which something is dominant. By this definition, if what is dominant in the realm you are is unpleasant, you will definitely feel unpleasant. Life does not offer pleasant circumstances all the time, sometimes you just wake up and feel bad for no just reason, it is a function of the realm you are. You hear people say ‘ I am not in the mood for that ‘ it is a function of the realm they are.
From creation, God made man to control circumstances and not being controlled by circumstances, from our passage today, Elisha was not in the mood of prophecy, he was not in the realm of prophecy but he needed to give prophecy. He knew how to switch realm, he knew what will bring the spirit of prophecy, he sent for a minstrel and as the minstrel began to sing, he switched to his desired realm.
A minstrel is a singer, or a player of musical instrument, as she was singing praises to God, the hand of God came upon Elisha. You can always switch realms with praises, praise invokes God’s Spirit and presence, so when you praise the Spirit of Godcomes upon your spirit and lifts you from that unpleasant realm to a desired realm. You can come out of unpleasant mood and realm by inviting God’s Spirit through praise. God bless you. Do have a praiseful week.
