Topic: MAKE YOUR LIFE COUNT
Text: Psalms 91:1-12KJV
5- Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.
6- In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.
10- The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
12- So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Time is of the essence of life, meaning time is life and life is time. The life of a man on earth is a function of time and is often represented with words such of life history or biography. What ever a man does or achieve on earth is done with time, therefore to joke with one’s time is to one’s joke with life.
As I woke this morning, I realised today is 31st January, meaning January 2017, is gone already leaving only eleven months remaining in the year 2017. So what did you do with the 31days of January, any progress at all? or you are yet to begin? Beloved, like this saying ” Time waits for no man”, I want you to remember the following:
* You will not live on earth forever, so maximise the time of your life
(Psalms 90:5-6)
* You do not own your life, so live to give glory to God who gives you life
*You do not own time, so spend the time with full accountability to the God who gives you the time
* You cannot stop time, so explore it to the fullest while you can.
Beloved, from our scriptural text above, David knew the importance of time to his life and he prayed in Psalm 90:12 “so teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom”. Jesus also brought this understanding to His disciples in John 9:4 saying “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” So make your life count with the passing of each seconds, minutes, days, weeks and months of this year. God bless you.
PRAYER:
* Father, help me to be a wise, responsible and accountable user of time in Jesus Name
* Father, teach me to number my days and apply my heart unto wisdom in Jesus Name
* Father, as the days goes by, my life will count to you and to my generation in Jesus Name
