PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
12th January
Topic: DEVIL’S WAITING TIME
Text: Luke 4:1-13KJV
10- For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
11- And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
12- And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
14- And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.
Time is an important factor in life, that many children of God don’t understand because we often get tired waiting on God for our request especially when answer is not forth coming. Even devil our enemy understands that with time things can change totally and so he would wait patiently until he fulfils his evil mission(John 10:10) over a soul.
From our scriptural text above, Satan tempted Jesus three times and after he failed those three times, in verse 13, he left Jesus for a while, meaning he would come back at another time. Devil never gave up on Jesus, he would go into waiting and come back again through out Jesus’ earthly ministry, even Jesus testified of it in John 14:30 He said “…for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me”. Despite all that, devil still did not give up until he ensured that Jesus was crucified but he never knew Jesus’ death would bring forth redemption to all men. Halleluyah.
For further example let’s consider Moses. Moses was great man of God but had a problem of anger, devil knew this and waited for Moses till he sinned against God because of anger. Devil tried Moses first in Egypt when he killed an Egyptian out of anger, in defence for an Hebrew boy. The second time, devil tried Moses was when out of anger he used the two tablets of the ten commandments that God wrote for him on the mountain, after 40days & night of fasting to break a calved golden image that Aaron made for the Israelites to worship, while Moses was away. Finally in Numbers 20, devil tried Moses again when out of anger he struck the rock for water to come out for the Israelites to drink. God told him to speak to the rock, but because he was provoked by the murmuring of the Israelites, he struck the rock and God was angry with him. As a matter of fact, God ended Moses’ ministry at that point and told him to prepare Joshua to take over from him
Dearly beloved, the devil never gives up on a soul until he fulfils his mission, the lessons for us are:
* Don’t get tired waiting on your God in prayer and fasting
* Don’t be ignorant of the devices of the devil
* Take heed unto yourself less you fall
* In all you do, ensure devil does not succeed to turn you against your God.
God bless you
PRAYER:
* Father, in any area the enemies are waiting for me, let them be disappointed in Jesus Name
* Father, I pray by your grace, devil will not turn me against you in Jesus Name
* Father, the ministry of the devil will not be fulfilled over my life in Jesus Name
