Topic: ACCELERATION
Text. : 1 Kings 18:41-46
1 Kings 18:44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
1 Kings 18:45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
1 Kings 18:46 And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
Acceleration is the increase of velocity, velocity is the distance traveled per time. Achievement has a lot to do with time, imagine someone getting driving license at age 80, a 15 years old boy in primary school, a woman who got married at age 60, these are odd timing for achievement.
Delay is a strong instrument in the hand of the enemy, devil. Every wise achiever must put time into consideration, one thing everyone needs in terms of achievement this year is acceleration ( speed ). God also value time, I understand that there are times He allows delay for a purpose, but in most cases God is not responsible for delay of blessing in the lives of His children.
From our passage today, Elijah out ran Ahab with his legs while Ahab rode on chariot, the reason is simply because God’s hand was upon him, after a serious prayer session, look at this :1 Kings 18:42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees.
This passage tells us why Elijah outran Ahab: Ahab went up to eat and drink while Elijah went to pray, excuse me, you can’t compare a man who fast and pray with the one who eats always .
Fasting and prayer brings speed, am talking from experience. Genuine fasting and prayer with holiness is like releasing explosives to a kindled light, you can be sure of explosion. If you want speed in your movement this year make fasting and prayer in holiness an attribute. God bless you.

* Lord grant me speed in achievement this year.
* I break every yoke of the delay and slow progress in life.
