Text: Romans 12:11-12 KJV
11- Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
12- Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.
Life is a function of time and by implication every single day, hour and minute count to fulfilling purpose in life. 2017 is already counting and many still sees it as a new year, many have not planned themselves yet for the year, a lot have not set goals yet still thinking there is time.
Beloved, wake up from your slumber and get ready for 2017, the days are counting already, your achievement at the end of the year is the accumulation of what you achieved each day, meaning you should make everyday count in 2017.
From our scriptural text above, let’s consider three possible areas to get ready for the journey of 2017:
* GET READY IN BUSINESS: by business, we want to consider it as every physically thing that you labour on either your jobs, businesses, families, careers, studies, ministries, dreams, goals in life e.t.c. verse 11 says “Not slothful in business…” meaning don’t be lazy in business, you need to be prepared to work harder than you did in 2016 over your life, career, family, job, business, dream, goals, ministry e.t.c
* GET READY IN SPIRIT: by spirit, we consider it to mean get ready spiritually. verse 11 says “…fervent in spirit…” Fervent could mean to be active. Be active in prayer, in study of God’s word, in fasting, in all spiritual matters. Let the fire of the Holyspirit be on in you and not quenched. Ensure you are constantly connected to God at all time so that you don’t miss anything God has provisioned for you by His spirit in 2017.
* GET READY IN SERVICE: by service, we consider it to mean be relevant to God’s kingdom and works. Serving God is like a link or the meeting point between your physical life and your spiritual life. Get ready to do more for God than you did in 2016, because as you labour for God, He releases His grace and blessing upon you.
In summary, Get ready in all ways for 2017. God bless you.
PRAYER:
Father, help me to be ready for myself, for you and for your Kingdom works this year in Jesus Name.
