Topic: DEALING WITH CORRUPTION
Text. : 1 Corinthians 15:33-58
1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
1 Corinthians 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
The earlier we understand that the solution to the corruption in our society will come from the church the better it is for us, if God cannot trust us to change our world then, there is a big problem. Take it or leave it; politicians cannot deal with corruption, that is the reason why over time we have been disappointed.
It is important we also know that corruption is a thing of the mind, it has it root in the mind, policies of any government is too weak to deal with the mind of a man, man’s heart is crafty and deceptive, only the word of God can purify the heart of man, so if our society will be free from corruption, it must be through the word of God, and this have to begin with people who meditate on the word.
From our passage ‘ evil communications corrupt good manners ‘, it means corruption set in as a result of bad communications, bad conversations, evil counsels, these are conversations contrary to God’s word, they are not in line with teachings of the bible, let me sight examples: you can tell lies when you are in critical needs, you can help yourself by doing business with company’s money, government fund is our fund we can spend it anyhow. It is only God’s word that take care of this.
You see just as evil manner spreads, good manner also spread, if you are a good example of one who fears God and shun evil, you will bring sanity to your life, family, and society. Nobody hates good thing, even those who practice evils want good people as staff, personal assistant, driver, etc, everyone likes good things, good manners, so when you start practicing God’s word some people will embrace your lifestyle with or without your knowledge.
If you do that at your end and I do my at my end, we will definitely transform our world and God will be glorified. Please start from today, let your life influence people positively. I pronounced you blessed this day.
