27th November
Topic: THE MYSTERY OF THANKS
Text. : Psalms 67:1-7
Psalms 67:5 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
Psalms 67:6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
Psalms 67:7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.
‘ Thanks ‘ to many people follows success, breakthrough, prosperity, miracles and answers to prayer, but much more than this, Thanks produces success, lifting, testimonies, miracles etc.
Everyman naturally rejoices when good things happen, a mourning soul will naturally give thanks when it’s desires are met, but indept understanding of the word of God will make you believe that ‘ thanks ‘ in itself has capacity to bring your desired miracle. Everyone who understands this won’t sit back and wait until his prayer is answered before giving quality praise.
Let me come out this way: Jesus said in St. Matthew 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. This also means that, what comes out of a man can edify, make, transform him, if what comes out of your mouth is short of thanks, then you cannot be edified or transformed, but if you mouth is loaded with thanks you can be sure of edification, transformation, things will turn in your favour.
Thanks brings your spirit out of a depressed mood to a lively mood, so it means that you actually determine the mood you want to be, even in bad times, you can choose to be happy. From our passage,’… when the people praise Him, Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us ‘. So, a thankful person attracts God’s blessings, through praises and thanksgiving you can walk out of unfavorable circumstances.
From another point of view, thanks from proceeds from a grateful heart. A thankful heart is a grateful heart, while a grateful heart is a graceful heart. As God sees your gratefulness He releases more grace upon your endeavors. So in essence am saying from the light of the scriptures, ‘ it is not events that determines when you give thanks, but your thanksgiving to God is potent enough to deliver your desired miracle. God bless you.
