Topic: LET GO
Text : Matthew 18-1-22
St. Matthew 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
St. Matthew 18:22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
Offense surely must come because we are human and we deal with human beings, most times where you place people is not where you meet them, This is because they are human, disappointment is one of human attitudes. Sometimes against the wish of the person disappointing you, because he is helpless himself.
Offenses sometimes is like touching your bone with hot iron, it can be so painful that you feel like retaliating, but from the light of the scriptures, every child of God must let go, holding someone in your heart does not really take you forward. This illustration will help you: when you hold someone by his clothe, you might not be able to move except the person you are holding moves, so, that puts both of you at the same pace.
To go forward in life, you must let go. Offense can also be liken to a snake bite, the person bitten by snake must let go of the snake and give attention to neutralizing the venom, if he tries to run after the snake, the venom will spread round his body and he will drop dead, letting go is forgiving the offender, is trying not to put the offense at heart. It is also wise not to give room for such offense some other time. God bless you.
PRAYER.
