Text : James 4:1-17
James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Since Adam fell in Eden, he became sensitive to evil and good, it could have just been good as God since he was made in the likeness of God but, eating the forbidden fruit expose him to evil, and thoughts of his heart are evil continually, Genesis 6:5.
Man lost the privilege of reasoning like God always, rather his thoughts are evil most of the time, Christ came to work upon our hearts and our lives. The cautiousness to live right is resurrected in Christ, everyone who has surrendered his or her life to Christ must live and act rightly always, this is God’s expectation for our lives. He is resurrecting the good deeds Adam lost in Eden to us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Look at this St. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Seeing our good works is what authenticate our sonship in God, everyone who profess Christ must act like Him, Christ will not take negative action even in difficult time. The life of Christ must reflect in our lives, it is then and only then God can be gloried in us. So it will not be out of place to say, ‘ acting right is the prerequisite for glorifying God ‘ vice verse.
Everyone whose life does not glorify God is liken to an elephant project with no profitable returns, how do I mean? God invested so much in you, He sent Jesus His son to suffer and die for your sin and if after all these your life does not give him glory then, your life can be liken to an elephant project with no profitable returns. Endeavor to act right always and encourage others to do same. God bless you.
