Topic : THE BLESSEDNESS OF HUMILITY
Text : James 4:1-10
James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
Humility is a step to greatness, it is absence of pride and arrogance. Understand that God rules the affairs of men, He determines who to be lifted and who to be relegated. I don’t know if you know that there is one danger of success, it is called PRIDE, it manifests automatically in a man, when he begins to attain success, the man appears as though he knows how to do things. His canal mind makes him feel he has understanding of how to make things happen, and something he feels like he is better than others. It appears as though all he has gotten were by his making.
God who weighs the heart of every man, knows a proud heart and humble heart. From our passage: ‘ God resist the proud, but gives grace unto the humble ‘, God detest, dislike intensely, the proud, why? The reason is not far fetch, it is simply because; God does not share His glory with anyone. Anyone who tries to share God’s glory with Him, loses His grace. What is GRACE? Grace is divine enablement to do beyond your human ability. It is God’s ability in man to do what his human ability cannot do.
So, when a man records successes in his life, and feels that happens by his making he loses the grace that makes that success possible. Every humble person receives grace to attain success as long as he gives glory to God. For everyone who desires lifting, success, breakthrough God is ready to give grace to attain such, as long as such fellow will continually give glory to God. Look at verse 10 of our passage: James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. The way up is to humble yourself before God. God bless you.

* Lord I bow humbly at your feet, give me grace for lifting,
success and breakthrough.
