Text. : Hebrews 13: 1-9
Hebrews 13:1 Let brotherly love continue.
Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain
strangers: for thereby some have
entertained angels unawares.
Good attributes are gradually been eroding
from our society, selfishness seems to be
the order of the day, especially when cost of
living is on the high side. Everyone seems to
be focus on oneself and family, the
brotherly love we share is gradually
diminishing.
We must not allow current financial
pressure discourage us from obeying the
scripture, lending your hands to the poor,
meeting the needs of the needy are
scriptural. From our passage, ‘ Be not
forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby
some have entertained angels unawares ‘,
Some have in the past entertain angels,
father Abraham was a living example; his
long awaited miracle came when he
entertained strangers not knowing they are
angels.
Where fasting and prayer could not deliver
immediate answer, answer came on a day
they entertained strangers. The widow who
fed Elijah could have taken the last meal
with her child, but when she entertained
the angel around her, Elijah, she was
preserved in the time of drought. Believe
me, there are angels around you but the
look like men, meet their needs and you will
see what will happen. God bless you.

* Lord, help me not to fold my hands when
I need to open them.
