Topic: EXPERIENCE : AN INVALUABLE
TREASURE
Text : 1Samuel 17: 31-37
1 Samuel 17:32 And David said to Saul, Let
no man’s heart fail because of him; thy
servant will go and fight with this Philistine.
1 Samuel 17:33 And Saul said to David,
Thou art not able to go against this
Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but
a youth, and he a man of war from his
youth.
1 Samuel 17:36 Thy servant slew both the
lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised
Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he
hath defied the armies of the living God.
When a woman starts cooking before her
mates, she has more broken pots.
Experience is an invaluable treasure, each
time you work or do business, either it is
successful or not, your effort is not in vain,
when it is successful, you learn how to
doing it right and when it is not, you learn
ways of doing it wrongly, and when you go
that way the next time, you know you are
heading to failure.
From our text, the word ‘ champion ‘ was
used 3 times for a man called Goliath, in
fact, that word was not used for any other
person in the bible, ‘ champion ‘ was only
used for Goliath in the entire bible. In verse
33, Saul gave David reason why he might
not be able to defeat Goliath; ‘ he is a man
or war from his youth ‘, it means Goliath
has got experience over the years, he has
been to many wars and he won, he knows
how to win wars. David replied by sharing
his own experience too: how he single
handedly killed a bear and a lion.
Experience was put in place in that war,and
the Lord was with David so he conquered.
The experience you get today will some
days bring you good fortune, experience
result into wealth with time, don’t give up
on the good works you are doing. If you do
not get returns today, you definitely get
experience which will some days earn you
good returns.
