27th September
Text: Psalms 51:9-12 KJV
9- Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10- Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11- Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12- Restore unto me the joy of thy
salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit
In part 1 of this devotional, we established that there is great joy in heaven over a soul that is saved (Luke 15:7,10), likewise, that redeemed soul will also be filled with joy unspeakable, joy like a river, this is called Joy of Salvation (Acts 3:19).
However, the devil is always working at making a believer to lose the joy of salvation, replacing it with sorrow, lamentation, frustration and condemnation. Another tool devil uses to achieve this is SORROW
The devil rejoices anytime a child of God is sad, sorrowful or weeping. This sorrow of the heart obviously replaces the joy of salvation at that moment in a believer’s and the devil glory in it. Devil is always wanting to steal the joy of salvation by touching believers with problems, challenges that brings forth sorrow, discouragement, sadness and weeping. A very good example for us today is the man called Job, Job was not a sinner, even God testified of it, that he was a perfect man (Job 1:8). However devil argued with God about Job, and sought permission to afflict him, that if Job was afflicted, he would deny God and God would see that Job was not a perfect man as testified.
All the devil wanted to achieve was to make Job sorrowful and frustrated to a point he will deny God. But the bible said in all this things Job did not sinned against God (Job 1:22)
Dearly beloved, know this, that for every Joy in your heart, heaven rejoices while devil is sad and for every sorrow in your heart, the devil rejoices. So never allow the devil to win over your soul and don’t give him any chance to do so (Ephesians 4:27), rather than being sorrowful in that situation, overcome it by spending more time to thank God, praise God and pray to God over the situation and you will be amazed how God will lift than burden off you. God bless you
* Father, I trade every sorrow in my heart for joy in Jesus Name
* I decree, devil no place for you in my life, soul, spirit, family, work and ministry, therefore satan, get thee behind me in Jesus Name
* Father, by the power in the name of Jesus, restore unto me the joy of thy salvation
Psalms 42,43
