Topic; A GOOD HEART (part 2)
Text. : Psalms 51:1-19
Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O
God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalms 51:11 Cast me not away from thy
presence; and take not thy holy spirit from
me.
Psalms 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of
thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free
spirit.
Man was made in the likeness of God, with
right heart and right spirit. But the day he
ate the forbidden fruit, his entire being was
contaminated with sin. His spirit polluted,
his body defiled, and his heart was corrupt,
he lost the likeness of God completely.
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above
all things, and desperately wicked: who can
know it? The heart of man became corrupt,
and the imagination of his heart was evil
continually. Genesis 6:5. Since all issues of
life proceeds from the heart, it is absolutely
important that everyone who desires a good
life must have his or her heart cleansed.
The psalmist desired a good life for himself,
so he considered it expedient to raise the
prayer point in our passage to heaven ‘
create in me a clean heart, o God; and
renew a right spirit within me ‘. The
impurities of heart, the ungodly
imaginations , the immoral thoughts, the
evil desires, the rebellion of heart towards
God’s word and pride within, must all be
cleansed if you must live a good life.
The first step is to surrender your life to
Jesus, consecrate your heart to God and
abstain from sin and anything that can get
your heart polluted like phonograph,
immoral songs, blue films etc. God bless
you.
